Dolce&Gabbana & Sardinia

Sardinia, renowned for its natural beauty and rich historical heritage, was chosen as an extraordinary stage for Dolce&Gabbana's latest fashion show. From 30 June to 4 July, the famous Italian fashion brand presented its new collections in two iconic locations: the evocative ruins of Nora and the picturesque Santa Margherita di Pula in the south of the island.

A dreamlike setting

The ancient ruins of Nora offer a breathtaking setting, where history is intertwined with modernity. This ancient archaeological site, with its well-preserved Roman amphitheatre and mosaics dating back to Punic times, testifies to the cultural richness and strategic importance of the area in the ancient Mediterranean. The models walked on catwalks suspended among the ruins, creating a perfect blend of fashion and history, modernity and tradition.

Dolce&Gabbana emphasises the importance of preserving and enhancing cultural heritage, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and respect for local traditions. This fusion of haute couture and historical context offers a unique show, enhancing the beauty of Sardinia and its typical and rich traditional clothes.

A homage to Sardinian culture

Dolce&Gabbana paid homage to Sardinian culture and traditions by incorporating elements of local craftsmanship into its collection. The garments presented show influences of traditional costumes, with handmade embroidery and motifs inspired by Sardinian landscapes. This fusion creates a unique collection that celebrates the identity and richness of Sardinia.

An exclusive event

The Dolce&Gabbana fashion show is an exclusive event divided into three main acts: high jewellery, high fashion and high tailoring, spread over five days of pure elegance. The first of July, at Forte Village, was dedicated to high jewellery, with jewellery inspired by the rich Sardinian traditions, immersed in a magical atmosphere amidst ears of wheat and bewitching lights.

On 2 July, the Archaeological Park of Nora hosted the act dedicated to high fashion. Christina Aguilera opened the event, accompanied by other fashion icons such as Naomi Campbell and Alessandra Ambrosio. This event attracted the attention of celebrities, influencers and media from all over the world, giving them the opportunity to discover the beauty of Sardinia through the eyes of Dolce&Gabbana.

This event demonstrates how fashion, culture and nature can come together in a perfect union, creating unforgettable experiences and promoting Italian beauty around the world.
