Cala Mariolu: Sardinia's beach ranks first in Europe

Sardinia is famous for its breathtaking beaches, but Cala Mariolu, located in the Gulf of Orosei, has achieved unprecedented recognition. Recently named the most beautiful beach in Europe and second in the world by the prestigious 'The World's 50 Best Beaches', Cala Mariolu has confirmed its place in the hearts of international travel experts.

But what makes Cala Mariolu so special? Anyone who has had the luck to visit this beach remains enchanted by its crystal-clear waters and white sand, a mix that creates an almost paradisiacal atmosphere. Accessible only by sea or via hiking trails, Cala Mariolu offers a unique experience of privacy and unspoilt nature, far from the tourist crowds.

This splendid beach not only enchants visitors with its beauty, but is also a symbol of the local community's commitment to preserving its natural heritage. The Baunei municipality, in order to preserve this jewel, has decided to limit access to 700 people per day, strictly controlling the entrances to keep the ecosystem in perfect balance.

Mayor Stefano Monni underlines the importance of this international recognition: 'It is an award that celebrates the beauty of Cala Mariolu and highlights our commitment to preserving our wonderful coastline. We invite everyone to visit and discover not only Cala Mariolu but also the hinterland of Baunei, which is equally rich in wonders."
